Spring Fling Writing
Thing set for April 25, 2009
Day-long event aims to spark creative writing process
... and a time and place to write
EAST LANSING--Barnes & Noble in East Lansing, Mich., will again host the annual PW Spring Fling Writing Thing.
The 2009 day-long Fling is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, beginning at 10 a.m.
Denise
Brennan-Nelson, an award-winning
children's book author and accomplished motivational speaker will lead
off the event, with a focused presentation on creativity. The Fling
will also feature genre-specific breakout sessions, to include personal
writing time and sharing. Writers, artists, parents, teachers and
children throughout the region have been inspired by Brennan-Nelson,
who is as recognized for her "boundless energy and enthusiasm," as she
is for her award-winning books, including her latest, Willow. She was
the keynote presenter at the 2008 Michigan Arts Educators Association
Conference.
The event is free and open to
the public; for
those desiring, opportunities to donate to the PW Scholarship Fund to
assist writers attending PW conferences will be available throughout
the day.
